The Character

Chaweng is Samui's Miami. Central Festival mall, Starbucks, Apple Authorised reseller, every cuisine, hospitals nearby, and a real after-dark scene. It is the default choice for first-time visitors who want options.

The Beach

Seven kilometres of broad white sand with gentle surf. Beach clubs, watersports, parasailing, restaurants and all-night bars along the strip.

Page at The Library, Red Snapper, Zico's, Wine Connection, Prego, dozens of rooftop bars, Soi Green Mango nightlife.

Mid-to-high ADR depending on how close to the beach. Year-round occupancy tends to be Samui's highest.

Practical Guide

The bay faces east. Swimming is best December–March; surf builds June–August. Chaweng main beach drains poorly after heavy rain — expect occasional brown-water days following monsoon downpours.

Seasonality. Peak demand runs December–February — Samui's busiest beach, period. The slowest period is typically October — wettest month, occupancy can drop materially — owners who price dynamically lift average occupancy materially through this window (we wrote about this in how dynamic pricing actually works on Samui).

Drive times. Samui Airport: 10 minutes. Chaweng: 0 — you are here. Lamai: 15 minutes.

Day-to-day amenities. Nearest large supermarket: Tesco Lotus Chaweng + Central Samui mall. Nearest A&E hospital: Bangkok Hospital Samui (5 min) — closest A&E on the island. Nearest international school: Panyadee British International School (10 min).

For owners. Chaweng attracts highest ADR potential, but also highest seasonality and the most competitive listing market. Plot availability is high — flat beachfront essentially built out; Chaweng Noi and the inland hills are where new villas rise.
